first week of internship

My first week at my internship was great!  Most of what i did this week was focused on marketing.  I focused on the allston/brighton area of boston and marketed towards college students.  I used craigslist as well as going to some colleges and hanging flyers up.  I also learned a lot about managing a team.  My supervisor manages a team of about 10 people.  I learned some interesting ways to stay on top of your team without micromanaging.  I also learned how my supervisor is using technology to stay on top of his team and the marketplace.  Recently my internship site has learned how to use social media as a marketing tool.  So a lot of what is going on at my site right now is social media related.  Other stuff that i focused on in my first week was a special task  i am doing with my supervisor, we are trying to recruit 3-4 full time employees for his team.  So we have been coming up with ways to contact perspective employees and the thought of attending multiple job fairs.  Next week i hope i can gain a better understanding on what it takes to dominate the apartment market in boston as my internship sites does.  I hope to learn how the skills of marketing, great salesperson skills come together and lead to a successful career.
