This week at my internship, I had finished transcribing about 25 minutes worth of video for part of Tuesday and Friday. After that was completed, I helped with development on a project by collecting information from various blogs and newsletters about facilities renovations. This information will be given to an organization who recently gave Citi Performing Arts a grant; we have to prove that this money has been spent wisely.
I was pretty proud of myself to be able to complete two projects in a matter of an hour or so. I felt that I had a lot of energy that Friday morning. However, this energy drained by around lunch time and I think it was weather related. My supervisor also gave me a big project: I have to find 1,200 quotes as to why the arts should be supported. I am not sure how long this will take, but finding that many quotes (even copying and pasting from the internet) is time consuming, not difficult. I probably will be working on this project for a couple of weeks. Hopefully my supervisor can give me something else to do as well because doing one project constantly becomes boring.
Now that the semester is about half way, I have completed more than half of my hours required for the internship. I will probably be able to have 120 hours in the next month, which will be nice. After that point, I am going to try and arrange coming in one day a week for a few hours because school will continuously become busy and it will be nice to have more time to dedicate to homework. Even if I finish my internship early, I do not think that dropping it off completely is a smart idea because I want put the best out there in case they want to hire me.
