First Week

It's been an interesting first week at my internship. Since it is the beginning I have been doing a lot of talking with my supervisor and her co-owner. They've taught me a lot about how their business works from how their system works to where they get their supplies. I was lucky enough to be taken to eat sushi on two occasions and I'm a sucker for raw fish! Because of my international status I have never had a job before. At my first internship last year at the Somerville Recreation Center I always felt like I was helping out, but now I am starting to get an idea of what it feels like to have a lot of responsibility and trust in a business (even though it's small stuff like how much they make, it's something confidential I've never worked with).

On Friday I actually went in and took one of their classes... I have not been able to sit comfortably since then. Cycling is a lot harder than I thought, but overall it was pretty fun. After that I helped put together the basement that was flooded from last year's rain in Somerville. Even though I've been working on small tasks I am still loving it and am really excited to learn more.

I started working on a half-sheet/suggestions feedback form and I think it looks alright for now, but I'll be working on that for several more hours in the future. Tomorrow I'm taking some volleyball players and fellow classmates to a class of theirs so I can get more experience and understanding of how I can help the Training Room.

Thanks.
