Blog #10 Near the Finish Line

As things are slowly progressing towards the end of my internship, I have one week left at CRLS. I haven't had much to do lately in the office and I have been feeling a bit useless and unproductive. I guess everyday isn't always a busy day. But I wish there were more things to do before I get ready to rap things up. I found myself constantly asking my supervisor and the secretary if they needed help with anything and they continued to give me the same answer: a long pause, then a “no thanks”. I'm not that surprised because the sign-up sessions for Spring sports are now over and all the schedules are completed. And there hasn't been many games lately, only practices because the season has ended. Also, the school is getting ready for their upcoming spring break and overall, their semester is coming to an end very soon. In the meantime, I try as much as possible to look for things to do around the office. On Thursday, I was asked to file some paperwork and I cannot remember ever being so happy to do work before. I was so desperate because I hated not doing anything. The good thing though is that I have a big presentation tomorrow. I will be presenting to a class of high-school seniors and student' athletes. I'll be giving them advice about the college experience, what to expect, and how to practice good time management skills etc. The presentation will be 10 minutes long, and I'm looking forward to it.
