wrapping up

United Nations Association of Greater Boston's biggest event of the year, the annual Consuls Ball (a gala to support America's youth) has now come and gone. As I spent all day friday working on the final pieces of the event I realized how lucky I was to have such a positive atmosphere and environment to work at. As much as working long hours and doing a lot of tasks seemed awful at the time, I really learned a lot through working with a non-profit organization. As I also attended the event and as the event seemed to speed by I realized how much work we put into an 8 hour event, I never knew how much work was needed in order to create a successful event and I appreciated the learning process of this as well. As an aspiring event planner I'm very fortunate to understand the ins and outs of creating an event as well as seeing how managing of a team works. My supervisor did a very good job in having roles for each person at the event and I now fully understand how to create an event from the beginning to end. I now know I do not want to pursue non-profit event planning, but I am excited to take my learnings onto my next steps of pursing an event planning career.

Thanks for reading!
