My internship has been going really well this week and last, despite a few ups and downs. I had an issue getting an interview for an article because there was a shift in management, the person who was able to answer my questions was leaving the city. It was difficult to get in contact with the companies, and I had to delay the article. I was given another article to draft. There is an upcoming protest about Martha Coakley and medical marijuana. I interviewed the person in charge of the protest. At first I was a bit nervous about the interview, but I tried to put together the questions and research beforehand. The interview went really well. It was very conversational, but I was glad I had drafted my questions beforehand. My supervisor had taught me to add a little "kicker" to the interview. He laughed before the question.
I learned from this experience that I enjoy interviewing. I like talking to different types of people and hearing what they are passionate about. It is an eye-opening experience that I hope is incorporated with the line of work I am going into.
