Week Eight

My internship has been very eventful and interesting lately. For Fuseideas is moving offices from Somerville to Winchester, so things in the office have been very hectic. When we were hired as interns, they didn’t know about the move, so trying to sort out the best scenario for the interns has been something that my supervisor has been trying to do (this new office is very inconvenient to get to). So we had decided that I would not come into the office anymore, but do event work outside of the office to make hours. However, on Friday the CEO offered to pay for our commutes so that we could come in, so I felt it was the best opportunity to continue coming into the office. I was feeling disappointed about having to end my relationships and learning by not coming in anymore so I am so happy that it worked out . I will only be going in one day a week now, for a full day, as well as working the Belle of the Ball event in a few weeks.

This past week was great because in preparation for the event, Aidan was going over some of the stuff that we would be doing to help and told me that she would have me help her with the media and celebrities in order to get more PR experience. I am so excited about this. Even if she just wanted me to observe the kind of stuff that she is doing I would feel lucky for that, but her wanting me to help and trusting me with the responsibility means a lot to me.

I was also so happy with our conference call. I really love having Aidan as my supervisor so I wasn’t worried about any awkwardness or her not having anything to say, but I was really taken back by all of the nice things she had to say about me. I didn’t realize how much she noticed about the work I’ve done and I didn’t feel like any compliment she was giving was forced. It is really great to feel acknowledged and appreciated in a workplace and she really makes me feel that way. It’s so nice to know that all of my work hasn’t gone unnoticed. I’m really looking forward to having more time with Fuseideas.
