Job Search Continues

This past week, I had a job interview over the phone for a company called SalesQuest. The position I applied for was market research. It was my first one that I ever had, and they are certainly different than visiting the workplace. I liked not having to travel anywhere and taking hours making myself look presentable. I still needed to prep for the interview by learning about the company, but I also needed to make sure that I could be conversational over the phone. Obviously this can not be practiced in an hour; it takes time and practice. I think my skills talking on the phone have been improving a lot because I have found myself calling people on the phone the past few months instead of texting.
The interview lasted for about 40 minutes, which was pretty long but I think that was good. We seemed to have a good conversation. The woman asked me about myself and my resume; however since I never sent a cover letter (I applied on LinkedIn, where it was not required) she had less things to ask me. Since I never sent a cover letter, I have to write one. In addition, I also have to summarize a six page article in about four paragraphs. I am finding it really stressful to deal with school and applying for jobs. School is enough as it is, but to add finding a job next year is a lot because I don't want to be out of school for too long after I graduate. Even though it is a lot, I still feel determined that I can do it (and this will push me through the next stressful month).
